November is National Adoption Month

National Adoption Month is to celebrate the families who have grown through adoption

Each year, November is recognized as National Adoption Awareness Month.

While all adoption-related issues are important, the particular focus of this month is the adoption of children currently in foster care.

Month is to celebrate the families who have grown through adoption

National Adoption Month is about spreading awareness. It is a month to encourage others to learn about adoption

The month also includes National Adoption Day, traditionally a Saturday, which is observed in courthouses across the nation, where thousands of adoptions are finalized simultaneously. In November of each year, adoptees, birth families, adoptive families and adoption professionals take some time to celebrate adoption, to reflect on adoption practices and its lifelong effects on families and children, and to educate ourselves about topics surrounding adoption.

National Adoption Month is about spreading awareness. It is a month to encourage others to learn about adoption, to hold adoption related events, and to acknowledge the people in this country whose lives have been impacted by adoption. The mission of National Adoption Month is to celebrate the families who have grown through adoption, and to recognize the many children who are still waiting for forever families.

Happy National Adoption Month! Keep an eye for articles, quotes, and even some special deals as we celebrate this month of appreciation and awareness.

“I thought, with losing my parents, that I had a firmer grasp on loss, but truly nothing can prepare you for going home from the hospital without a child.”
